Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

God cares about Widows, Orphans and The Poor & Needy. By His grace, we will all do our parts and be the hands and feet of Jesus and minister His love to people around us. So help us God, Amen.

Our Story

DOWM Ministry provides family based solutions for widows and orphans in Kiambu County, mainly in the Korio, Mbau-ini and Matathia areas.

Many of our DOWM orphans have a single (widowed) parent or relative that they live with. DOWM helps to  strengthen these widows and relatives to provide permanence, stability and safety for these children.

It is our desire to reach out to these families and the communities that they live in. Our goal is to help without hurting. Empowering through education to bring each widow and orphan to the point of eventually being fully able to care for themselves and become strong members of their community and society as a whole.

PIEI-DOWM National Director

   Pastor Francis & wife Elizabeth

Pastor Francis was born in the small village of Matathia, where he continues to live today with his own family. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Wambui on the 18th of December 2004.The two have been blessed with three children: Lewis Waweru, Gertrude Waweru and Tasha Njeri.

Knowing his heart, God compelled Francis to join Vision international bible seminary to pursue a degree in Theology. After completing his BA in 2004 God called him to pastor a small church with only one woman and seven children. Surprisingly, five of the children were orphans and the woman was a widow. This fully confirmed God's call and laid on Passtor Francis' heart to serve care for the needy widows, orphans, vulnerable children and widowers. Thus Dorcas orphans and widows’ ministry (DOWM) began, and up to date, you will either find Pastor Francis distributing food to orphans, mentoring the older orphans, working alongside widow/ers and leading them  to the Lord.
